Committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families, Multicap is an employment service that supports all kinds of employment, providing people from diverse backgrounds with every opportunity they need to thrive. Each day, hundreds of people benefit from Multicap’s work. Their long history and readiness to integrate new programs meant that Multicap was growing and reaching more lives than ever.
For the team, it wasn’t always clear how each of their activities and outputs was contributing to the change they wanted to see – they just knew they were doing good work and responding to the needs of their community. They struggled to articulate the relationship between the work they were doing each day and the change they wanted to create.
To help the Multicap team bridge the perceived gap between their vision and their daily activities, White Box Enterprises surveyed the leadership team to identify and understand the shared perspective on organisational strengths, unique characteristics, and opportunities for building viable social enterprises that would create jobs. In addition to the survey, the White Box team conducted a workshop, summarised the big ideas, and presented them back to Multicap in a marketing document, including a Theory of Change.
White Box Enterprises provided four compelling options for Multicap to continue to develop as they scaled their operations, and a clear articulation of how they could bring about change through their activities and outputs.
Working together to solidify their vision and ensure their activities were contributing to that vision, White Box Enterprises and Multicap established a long-term relationship built on trust and shared value creation.
